Luck Of The Irish ๐Ÿ€โ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ€

I’ve just come back from a trip to Ireland ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช. I went to Dublin to visit one of my best friends… and I went with one of my other best friends. Robert is Irish and moved to Dublin last year. He’s been asking me to visit for AGES. And I finally thought why not? I haven’t been anywhere since pre-covid when I did my first solo holiday to Mallorca. So off to Ireland I went ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช.

We flew with Ryanair and it was my first time with them. I’ve flown โœˆ๏ธ budget airlines before and was really disappointed. However, Ryanair was lovely. Unfortunately I did cave and purchased extra luggage cause I honestly donโ€™t know HOW to pack๐ŸŽ’ light. So I did pay for a cabin bag ๐Ÿงณ prior to the flight. I just knew that with all the souvenirs, I’d need the space. And then I added a priority seat for the return journey too.

On the way to Dublin ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช I was in the exit row but the middle seat. However, the lovely staff allowed me to change to the window seat ๐Ÿ’บ as it was free. So ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ I got used to the extra room and wanted an exit row seat ๐Ÿ’บ but I’d already picked a seat and then changing it was a pain. It cost me an extra euro ๐Ÿ’ถ ๐Ÿ˜’. However, I had the whole row to myself and the lovely Ryanair staff helped me get all my luggage in the cabin compartment. They were very attentive and I genuinely liked flying with them! I’d never flown with them before!

In Dublin I used the DART ๐Ÿšž to travel around. On the first day, Robert met us at Connelly Station ๐Ÿš‰, we got a BOLT ๐Ÿš• from the airport ๐Ÿ›ซ and travelled there. However, there is an airbus that can take you to Dublin City Centre but they were on strike apparently.

On our first evening in Dublin… Robert had to work. So he gave us tickets to a comedy show at the Laughter Lounge. I didnโ€™t stay for everything but I really loved the MC/Host of the show. He’s also a comedian and he’s funny ๐Ÿ˜ as hell. He’s called Steve Cummins! And he had magical hair and some very whitty jokes! There was another comedian call Joe something but he’s quite new in the industry. He got funnier as he warmed up. Then JoJo Sutherland came on and man her jokes caused my cheeks to hurt! So did Steve Cummins. Honestly, I expected a fun weekend but this was amazing!!! I wasn’t eating much that day, I wasted most my breakfast from Giraffe ๐Ÿฆ’, only had seasoned fries and a coke at TGI Friday’s and then we went to the Laughter Lounge ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜†. We got a free drink. We had coke which was literally the tiniest bottle ever at 200ml… apparently its used for mixers. Robert got us a good table but a hen ๐Ÿ” party came in and they were very drunk and loud bless them. So, he had us moved to another table which was great. At night he ordered us Domino’s and all I can say is… I’m officially in love ๐Ÿ˜ with their pizza ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿคค

I visited loads of places in Dublin. Trinity College, St Stephen’s Green and Stephen’s Green Shopping ๐Ÿ› Centre. We also went to PowersCourt Centre and had drinks at Little Pyg and then went to Jewel in the Crown which was a halal Indian restaurant. The food wasn’t bad. Although for me it was slightly mild in taste but I did enjoy myself. I also had a Rhubarb and Custard Doughnut from The Rolling Doughnut ๐Ÿฉ. That was lovely! ๐Ÿ˜ On our last day we walked ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ along the coast to the East Pier and into Dรบn Laoghaire. I had the best hot chocolate from a place called Le Chocolate de Frรฉd… This wasn’t a powdered Hot Chocolate. This was one made with real chocolate and it was delicious. I also had mini fish and chips from Wetherspoons The Forty Foot. That was pretty tasty too! I actually liked the fish ๐ŸŸ as the batter was light. I usually like breaded fish. I bought a ton of souvenirs and loads from duty free too!

Unfortunately, our flight back was delayed. But, Dublin I loved you! The highlight of my trip was the MOLI which is the Museum of Literature Irish. That touched me deeply and learning about James Joyce was amazing. The installations in the Museum spoke to me and honestly I felt at home. I was so inspired I actually wrote a piece while there. Special shoutout to my girl Coco who is an angel and apparently synced her snoring ๐Ÿ˜ด with mine, Thank you to Robert for the accommodation and the Irish History tour, Great Food and Travel Recommendations and his flatmate Molly for being the sweetest entertaining Irish woman I’ve met. And Milan for being the most docile and well behaved cat ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ› ever! I’ll miss you Dirty Dublin. Until next time! Oh and if you like Podcasts ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ then check out both Dating Games and the Mental Podcast by @BobbyTemps, both of these are great and he just won an award๐Ÿ† for the Irish Podcast Awards… he’s also won an international award 3 Times and if he wins another time… they actually name the award after the Mental Podcast which is AMAZING!
