Poetry Is The Key

My steps into the world of book publishing and poetry

So you may know that this year, I began to write Poetry. Now, I didn’t set out to write poems, but once I created the website, I also reactivated my old social media profiles and started my professional Instagram.

Due to Instagram I had some people contact me about contributing to their anthologies. So it was kind of a challenge because I’m not a poet.

I’ve contributed to quite a lot of them. Some have already been published and others are in the process. I have certificates from those that have been published and its pretty cool 😎

I wasn’t just writing specifically for the anthologies though. Once I started writing, the words just flowed. Eventually, I had enough material to create my own book. Which was surprising 😮 because I definitely didn’t expect it at all.

I write about things that are important to me. People and situations that affect me. Then it’s easy.

I’ve written about the object of my affection. My mom, my brother and anything that may have impacted me as a child.

I actually did a piece for university. It wasn’t a poem but my tutor provided me feedback and said it could be styled as a poem because it reminded her of another author called Jamaica Kincaid.

So I decided, that although my poems are about to appear in various anthologies. I might as well put together a collection of my own personal favourites. The inspiration for all these poems is the object of my affection but the situation is one of unrequited love.

You’ll be able to buy my poetry on Amazon exclusively for 60 days. Right now you can pre-order my book for Kindle which means you can read it on your phone, Kindle device or tablet.

If you do happen to purchase it, please leave a review. If you don’t have a Kindle or Tablet then fear not. A paperback copy will also be available shortly. I hope it resonates with you.
