Literary Agents

So… As I announced last year, I finished writing my children’s book… I had some beta readers and the overall consensus was that the story was enjoyable. This was obviously encouraging. Yet, due to my dissertation, redundancy and a whole host of other issues I didn’t actually send this out to any literary agents… Stupid… I know.
But yesterday, I got off my arse and sent my book off to multiple agents. It’s a bit unfortunate that some of the agents I wanted to submit to are not currently accepting submissions for children’s picture books. It’s a bit annoying that some of them will only accept picture books from current clients. However, I’m an enormous believer of God’s plan. Everything works on his timing. So In Sha’Allah (God Willing) maybe this will work out for me. I have to wait between 6 and 8 weeks for most agents but some have advised 12 weeks. I’ll wait as long as it takes and if no one happens to bite, I’ll self publish. I believe in this book. I really think it will be successful.
