The Art of Drabbles

So the final term of University started a few weeks ago and I learned all about drabbles. Drabbles are 100 word stories and usually a picture is used as a prompt. However, I think a normal writing prompt could potentially be a drabble too 🤷🏾‍♀️ as long as it fits the 100 word criteria.

What I’m not 100% sure about however, and should probably clarify next class, is whether a drabble is meant to have a beginning, middle and end or whether the picture could just be used as the premise for telling a story.

I’ve considered writing a book of drabbles and releasing it as a chapbook perhaps but until I get more information I’m a little stuck.

It’s not like I haven’t gotten enough going on right now. I’m in preproduction for two poetry books, I’m writing a children’s book and will hopefully🤞🏽 illustrate it too.

A friend has offered to illustrate it but it’s honestly difficult to find the time right now. I’ve also entered a few competitions so if I’m lucky, maybe I’ll win 🏆 After all, you can’t win unless you’re in race.
